I goofed up

I walked with Eemer last night at Webb Bridge Park. We did 2.3 miles before I was worried she was getting too hot (Emma, the German Shepherd, hasn't been quite as active the past couple of years).

I then stopped by and got "reasonably healthy" fast food. ugh. I shouldn't have eaten that. I could have done worse, but it was about 8:30pm, I didn't need to do that.

Got up this morning and ran 3mi with K. Forgot to weigh in.

I'm obese

It's official, I got the news from webmd this morning. I'm obese (but just barely, if that's even remotely good news)

* Gender: Male
* Height: 6' 3"
* Age: 3X
* Current Weight: 245
* Current Pant Size: 38
* Weight Goal: Lose 2 pounds per week
* BMI: 30.6
* Waist to Height Ratio: 0.51
* Healthy Body Weight Range: 148 and 199
* Target Heart Rate: 93 to 139
* Target Caloric Intake to Meet Weight Goal: 2308

So my goal of 180 is reasonable. It's even on the top half of the "healthy body weight range". I couldn't imagine being 6'3" and being 148 lbs though...

Running with the local Cross Country team

I made a trip to Webb Bridge Park tonight to run. The park was packed and there were a ton of Cross Country runners out smokin' past me. I think they all weighed 100 lbs less than me. That was nice. But - it was the first trip out on my own to run in a long time. Did a good hilly 3.5 miles.

Weighed in again this morning. Still think the scale is broken. It says I have 60 to go. I'll keep this scale for a week and if it doesn't start looking right, I'll go ahead and toss it.

Think I need a new scale

I think it's time for a new scale. This one was always strange and I don't have confidence in lower numbers at this point. Numbers are going in the right direction, but they don't make much sense.

I did pretty well eating this weekend. Didn't get to run, but got up this morning and ran another 5k at Roswell Park.

64 lbs to go.

Fatty Fat Fat

One of K's favorite sayings is "fatty fat fat". That sadly describes me (once again). I've pretty much gained 50 of the 60 lbs I lost 4 years ago. That - as well as seeing pictures of me running the July 4th 5k - has motivated me to start going again.

I printed up a calendar and put it on the fridge for the daily weigh-ins. Also, no more excuses for not exercising more. I work from home now so there's no reason I can't find time to do more than the 9 miles of slogging I do per week.

First weigh in on July 10th, 2009 - 249 lbs. Yes, that's right. 249. 69 to go.

We then met up and ran 5k at Roswell Park and ate a reasonable lunch at the Fickle Pickle.
