Monitoring Progress

I've been running with my Garmin Forerunner 305 350 most days as it allows me to run any route in the set of neighborhoods over here and keep good track of distance. This has worked well and gives me an idea of pace, etc...

Last night I added the Heart Rate Monitor to the setup. (The instructor at the Y the other day stressed how important it was to keep within you aerobic range when exercising) I've had it all along but never used it. Most worrying is that even though I'm a very slow runner (11-12min/mi) it says my HR was clearly in the anaerobic zone. I don't want to basically walk to keep it in that "weight loss" range at the same time I don't want to use that hour each night ineffectively.

For now, I guess I will just keep running the way I have. I'm not going fast enough to think I ought to slow down very much. I may drop the pace a bit to see if that helps.

Summary for yesterday: Slogged 4.5mi and ate about 2k calories. Weighed in this morning at 219. Nice to break that 220 barrier for now.
